Chowderfest 2012

Although Eamon is the one kiddo in our family who actually loves chowder, he was more interested in the tractors!

Llamas, llamas, everywhere.

Liam, the reptile wrangler.

Um, is it just me or should we not trust that piece of scotch tape holding his mouth closed?

Big, fat frog.

While we live in harmony with the spiders in our house, I can honestly say that I was happy this fella was safely tucked into his cage.

Eamon's turn to hold the alligator, or was it a crocodile?

Doesn't matter, still creepy.

Fairy princess actually stayed still for a moment.

Magical.

PacMan seems so serious today.

Eamon was entering a new phase... he'd taken to licking the blood drops off his finger sticks every day and telling everyone he was a vampire.

He went for zombie and got Frankenstein instead.

Have a nibble, little lamb.

And everywhere we go, there is at least one photo of a kid up a tree. Such is life with our boys.

First day of school 2012!

Colin, third grade.

Eamon, kindergarten.

Liam, second grade.

So happy to be starting "real" school.  (And the only one I could convince to wear a raincoat).

Three amigos ready to roll.

Rainy day.

Off they go.

Hardwick Fair 2012

Liam's winning sack race!

The Hardwick Fair is always the harbinger of fall coming. But we always manage to make it the last best playtime of summer.

It's not a fair without kettle corn.

Lots fewer animals this year than in the past. We did find one alpaca though.

Golf may not be Eamon's sport.

But he did decide to join his first sack race!

Here he is edging out the competition!

Not bad! A winner for the first time! Look at that blue ribbon!

Someone else joining the sack race.

Also a blue ribbon winner!

Colin got his hand (er, feet?) in the action as well!

Potato relay champion in his age group!

Little Miss sticks to playing in the hay.

Look who won his potato relay too! Winners all around!

Haystack model?

So happy. Love that smile.

Ah, when the heat still made her hair curl...

Colin and Liam attempting the egg toss together. Careful...

No! I cannot BELIEVE that toss!

Concentration. Trying to do the balance beam with his eyes closed.

After the fair, we headed out to Amherst for the afternoon. Eamon decided to test the skills of a local magician.

Pick a card, any card...

Wow! That WAS my card, no way!!

Tricksters (very belated July 2012 edition?)

Colin chose a bike with "cool" trick bars on the back. He's just not too sure how to use them yet!

Liam up a tree. Big surprise.

The only problem is that the branches are as thin as his little finger.

Getting braver. It's hard to have a little brother who has no fear. It does force you to try things you wouldn't otherwise attempt, though.

Take that, fear!

The doctor is IN.

Eamon doesn't love his bike too much, but his scooter is another story.

Little Miss doesn't love danger. Picking flowers is more her speed so far.
